Smart Solutions has extensive knowledge of the legal processes and requirements for environmental studies and their approval under the Environmental Protection Act 1997 of Pakistan. Our team also works in alignment with the environmental and social policies of major international donors, ensuring that development projects meet both local laws and global sustainability guidelines. This combination of national and international expertise allows us to deliver solutions that are technically robust, legally compliant, and sustainable in the long term.
Scope of Services
We provide a full spectrum of environmental consultancy services. Our work includes preparing Terms of Reference (TOR) and conducting Initial Environmental Examinations (IEE) to identify potential impacts in the early stages of project development. We also develop Scoping Documents and carry out Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and Social Impact Assessments (SIA). For projects that require a combined approach, we undertake Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIA) to address both environmental and community concerns.
In addition, we specialize in formulating Acquisition, Compensation, and Relocation Plans (ACRP), Resettlement and Rehabilitation Plans (RRP), and Vulnerable Community Development Plans (VCDP) to ensure that affected populations are supported during project execution. We also offer ongoing environmental monitoring services and create detailed mitigation and management plans to minimize potential adverse effects.
Thrust Areas
Our primary focus areas include preparing Baseline Environmental Assessments to establish existing site conditions and developing Environmental Management Plans (EMP) that guide responsible practices throughout a project’s lifecycle. We create Environment Protection Plans (EPP) to safeguard ecosystems and Solid Waste Management Plans to ensure responsible waste disposal.
We also prepare Occupational Health and Safety Plans, Muck Disposal and Management Plans, and Compensatory Afforestation Plans to offset ecological impacts. Our Restoration and Revegetation Plans are designed to rehabilitate disturbed environments, while our Vulnerable Community Development Plans (VCDP) address the needs of marginalized groups. In addition, we review and evaluate environmental reports to ensure accuracy, compliance, and alignment with regulatory expectations.
